Will a F-150 ring and pinion work in my stang?

I was curious if I could use the F-150 ring and pinion in my 8.8 rear end. I know they're both 8.8's but I didnt know what the difference was. Are they not as strong as the ford racing gears?

I have one from an Explorer. The difference from a Mustang Diff to a truck one is the truck is 31 spline and the car is 28. You will need new axles to support the upgrade.

if he's only going to use the gears, he doesn't need a new carrier right? if he was getting the whole trak lok (im assuming they were so equipped?) then he'd need some new axles

If you're just using the gears it'll work.
