Will a Harley F150 Engine fit ?

Guys,

an f150 harley edition engine has appeared for sale over here. 2003, 15,000 miles, complete with auto transmission, wiring, computer, everything, pulled from a rolled truck...

will it go in a 96 GT ? I think i need a cowl hood but what else ?

this is gonna be sold soon so I need all the nelp I can get guys

If the lightning engine will fit in foxbody and the 5.4 will fit in a 2KR then there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to make that work with a few mods...

Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords put a 5.4 Lightning motor in an 86 fox. The also put a 5.4 Triton in a 2000? and Cammed it... I would suggest coming there online archives.

There has been several 5.4 swaps done, I see no reason it wouldn't work, but you might need a 4 inch cowl hood.

You will have to get a custom hood if it has the blower on it. The sucker sits about 4 inches out of a normal hood.

Sorry to hear that, I was interested in seeing how this one went. I can't imagine how big of a hood one would need for a s/c 5.4 under there.

There was an actual car (not a scam) on ebay that had the lightning motor in it. He had the s/c sticking out of the hood a few inches (at least 3-5). He just cut a hole and closed the hood. It looked mean, yet sloppy. A nice cowl hood would look sweet.

The put one in the 2000-R by lowering the motor mounts and a taller hood

No you dont. To do a 5.4l swap, you need intake adapter plates for the stock SOHC intake and different exhaust manifolds. The 5.4l block has a higher deck height than a normal 4.6l block.

Ive got a pic of a Lightning engine in a 96.. RLANEY5.4 on here does this stuff. His shop is in North Carolina.

heres some more insight on what ford used to install that beast.... they made it fit. no they didnt alter the shock towers. it mustve been some other installation i was thinking of. its still a very tight squeeze. try reaching those spark plugs

I saw it done in 5.0 mustangs and FF, I'm sure it will fit, there is some room for a bigger motor than a 4.6
