bout ready to buy it, but i want to know if it will effect starting the vehicle, have anything to do with over heating, overall driving of the car, and damage that can be done to the engine. what are the problems with a stage one performance cam.....anything. i need to know cause im ready to buy.

Cam dependant valve float might be possible. Also if you are pushing the power high in the rpms you'll need supporting mods to allow higher engine rpms.
A more agressive cam will produce a BIGGER bang, hence the increase in power. This will mean the engine will run hotter. Improved cooling may be needed. If engine life is important then an engine oil cooler is also a good idea.
Make sure all of your ignition and fuel system is up to spec. I haven't done any research in this area but these are likely problems that can occur on any vehicle. I would check/change:
-change plugs and leads, make sure the distributors is working fine along with the coil.
-fuel system may need improved fuel flow, bigger pump, bigger fuel line and bigger injectors.
Also more power will put more stress on suspension/brakes/transmission.
I did a simple cam and carb swap on my TR7 last summer. I added a bigger fuel pump, yet still had problems will fuel starvation. I relocted the pump to the engine bay and upped the fuel line to 3/8" It runs much better but I think it would still take more fuel if it could.
Although I have a 12" Kenlowe fan and upgraded radiator, on hot days it still runs very close to over heating.
If it goes smooth you should have no trouble, as many people have done this. But do your research and get it all sorted. A tune will definatly be needed, and according to one of your other threads if you think there is already an issue with your engine GET IT SORTED before any more mods are done.

Fox Lake is a good company, and I'm sure you should be happy with the results. Just tell them what you're looking for and see what they recommend. I also recommend checking out the VT Engine stage 1 cam setup before you purchase. It can be used with the stock springs and the only thing you will need to make the most of it is a tune. However, with any cam change, a tune will probably be needed to make sure ignition input and fuel pressure remains balanced. Just make sure who ever you have installing the cams knows what he/she is doing, else, you will have bigger purchases to worry about besides new cams.....like a new motor.ADRENLN said:

Well hopefully, my cams will come in this week. If they do, we should instal them on sunday. Do you want me to give you a PM to tell you how the car acted after they were in, and about the instal? I dont know how much power you will gain N/A, but I can tell you that when you go S/C there should be a pretty good difference. Let me know what the flow#s are on those heads. Thanks

are you tuning after the cams go in. your doing just cams and no heads right? i would think you would gain at least a good 25 to the wheels with just the cams.
the fox lake heads flow # on the stage 2 that im think of are 223 in. 195 ex.

Another option is to buy a set of VT Engine stage II race ported and built cylinder heads to go with their cams. They flow pretty close to the same as the Fox Lake Stage 2 heads. They are 2,000 dollars straight out for the heads. You can then cell your stock heads and stock cams for money later on. I'de sell the stock heads and cams together in a package for like 500-600 dollars. Someone with a 96-98 GT looking to do a head swap is sure to buy them for that price.
