This is really a tech post, not talk. But it seems that people really only get ticked when the mistake is made in the other direction.

Anyway, back to your question. Are you talking about a dyno tune? If so, I'd say probably no. As I understand it, a dyno tune only focuses on WOT performance. Idle is a closed throttle driveability issue. For that you would need a tuner computer (tweecer or PMS). Or you would need to work on your components and try to work the kincks out that way (clean MAF, set idle speed, adjust TPS, etc.).

Maybe you meant a simple tune up. If you need one, then that could clear up some driveability issues (like idle).

Hope that helps. Good luck.

You might be right about the TPS resetting. But the concern there is to set voltage to 1.0v at idle - which does not reset. You do that by moving the thing around a bit and measuring with a multimeter. BTW, I have noticed that moving that around has a hugh impact on idle.

Since it's just you and me posting in here so far, I'd say you would not be losing anything to just start a new thread in tech.

Yes it will if they know what they are doing. If they are not aware of it, tell them to turn off the dashpot decay function. That, I believe, tells the computer to ignore the VSS, vehicle speed sensor. Mine used to hang, but after a tune when i press in the clutch it falls right back to idle!
