The fumes in my stang are too much. In short I have a 99 GT making 400whp thanks to a vortech charger and supporting mods, including an offroad H-Pipe.

Will adding Hi-flow cats help the smell? What kind of power loss will I expect?

well with forced induction the difference is greater IMO cuz of the backpressue, but cats wont hurt you too much - just make it a lil quiter

I really don't care about the power loss or the noise, it's more of the "getting stuck in rush hour in the heat feeling dizzy with a cop behind me syndrome" lol.

The fumes shouldn't be THAT bad ... Something may be leaking.

Zero leaks. Exhaust exits at the back. No dumps and the smell comes from the tail pipes...

lol i have side exhaust and no cats and its still not that bad. but then again, i love the smell of open exhaust. im also addicted to the smell of gasoline and diesel exhaust, and burning rubber.

just stick a high-flow cat on each side. wont rob you of as much power as the stock cat system, and itll take away alot of the fumes.

Check out my exhaust setup + heads + cams - my garage will stink even with the door open if i turn the car on.

Cats will definitely help.

i dont really think it should be to the point where it is that strong of a smell, the cats will deff help but maybe your car is just running really rich.

Get a custom tune and have your a/f ratio checked.

Yeah you are either really sensitive to that smell or you are running really rich. I smelled gas for a few days when I first put my O/R pipe on but after that I never noticed it again.
