i was just wondering if my 04 gt will pass nj state inspection with an off-road hipie? I have the MIL so the check engine is not lit but i just wanted to know if they have another way of telling i don't have cats on the car.
NJ state use a sensor that go's in to the tail pipe and reads your emissions that come out your tail pipe > YES IT WILL FAIL and NO it WON"T matter to themif the light is on or off >? you will have to put your stock h-pipe back on to pass.
ok, thanks for the info. i wasn't sure if they had the sensor that goes into your tailpipe. thanks, saved me the hassle of putting my off-road h-pipe back on for nothing.
They wouldn't have even gotten as far as the sniffer test. Every state at least has the visual exam and without cats, you would have failed instantly. Good thing you have the stock pipe handy
In illinois they just plug you in and your on your way. Packed or empty with people.. Probably better to go packed. I passed when i put my catted H back on with no passenger side gasket so i was leaking BIG TIME @ the header.
