hey guys, i live in CA. And i went to a shell gas station about 20 min ago and a little stiker said this gas MAY contain 10% ethonal.

First off i put about 1 gal in, then stoped. I'll get gas some where else tomorrow.

But i was wondering with my mods and tune will this stuff hurt my car? And what is it supposed to do????

I have a CAI, 70mm T/B, Plennum, pro chamber, mac cat back, FRPP D/S, 3.73's and a diablo predator with a tune from a local shop.

Thanks SN

just to clarify, im not really worried about the 1 gal doing anything. Unless you guys tell me that i should be worried. BUT i guess what im asking here is if i start using this stuff mixed with other gas or just the ethonal stuff will it hurt my motor or make me lose any HP or TQ as a result????

Someone should be able to answer the specifics with your mods. It isn't going to make much, if any, of a difference to the car.

Here's a map of where ethanol blended fuels are mandated by the EPA:
http://www.epa.gov/otaq/rfg/whereyoulive.htm

If you get outside those areas, the fuel still may contain "up to" 10% ehtanol. There will always be a sticker or notification of that.

I've heard that the "premium" fuels are not covered by the mandate and you have a good chance of finding those without the ethanol.

I run the E10 most of the time and have only recorded a small (~1mpg) loss in MPG, not any performance difference. Believe me, when I'm driving outside the mandated zone, I fill it up.

It will drop your mileage slightly, but won't affect anything else.

I do notice that I don't get as many miles per gallon, though it doesn't hurt performance at all

I've been running it since it's the only thing I can get out here *outskirts of Houston*

A family member swears that his f-150 isn't running right with this 10% ethanol. He claims that it has lost power and is getting HORRIBLE gas mileage. I told him to bring it in (still under warranty) and have them check it out. Anyone else hear complaints like this?
