getting my 4.10s installed tomm, my 86 gt is all stock, my son-in law has a 2008 pontiac gxp v-8 think its the chevy v-8 motortrend says 0to60 is 5.7, i rode in it , think it might be a bit faster then mine with my 3.27s. you guys think i can do it? i did a 0to60 years ago with a buddy along , we got like times from 7 to 8 secs. but we both had quiet a few millers in us then, a long stretch out in the sticks back then. like 20 years ago, now days it seems like there is a cop around every corner when you want hop on these cars.

thats the one with the ls1 motor right? I dont think you'll be able to get him unless you have some drag radial, then you have a chance. those cars are pretty fast, they sound great too.
convert to mass air, put like 2Gs into a head/intake/cam and you'll smoke the **** out of him.

My friend I have one word for you and that is "LS3."

415 hp vs. you're slow AOD car.

IF you wanted to run a 4.10 gear, covert over to a t-5 and leave the line at 5500 rpms with a dialed in pinion angle on a full slick, you might be able to hold him off until the 1000ft mark but he will reel you in.

I've watched a fully gutted notch run a mid 12 on a 6000 rpm side step and a stock carb'd long block. It was a guy who used to street race in Chi-town; went by the handle EZMONEY. He threw a junkyard 5L in his car while is stroked Clevand was being redone.

My point of this is to enjoy your car for what it is. If you want to think about hanging with the GXP G8, it will take a fair sum of cash if you want to do it the right way.

You could always just spray a 200 wet shot on your ride and cheat. I've seen foxes go from mid 14 passes to deep 12's on 200 wet shots.

he's gonna rape you regardless, save yourself the embarassment in your AOD slug and fake a mechanical issue the day before the race
