yes he rebuilt the posi too. very good shop up here. ALL the mustang guys and girls take their rides there. they do it all, restos to new shelby mods too, my next car. too much work to get these little 5.0s to go fast, might as well get up with the newer mustangs, much faster.

Eh, but everyone and their mother has one. I had an '03GT i bought new. Fun little car. Ran a 14.1 with it bone stock, but since it was so common nobody paid any attention to it. Unless you have a Cobra or GT500, you just blend in with every other V6 on the road. It was too cookie cutter.

I traded it in for my G35 and went back to my 5.0 roots. I get way more attention and nods in my 5.0. Every time i get gas someone asks me questions. I just don't see anymore. It may not be as quick as a brand new Mustang, but driving around in a 20+ year old Mustang is a totally different animal. All my friends drive 03/04 Cobra, GT500's, Mach 1's etc. Sure they might beat me (maybe not after i finish my engine) but they bought their speed.

i hear you on that, my 86 gt has 160,000 miles on it but my wife drove it ill say 155,000 miles, now its mine. she bought a new car, since i,ve been driving it around every where i go i get complements, not a ding , paint is still like new, been garaged its whole life, ill never sell it, but after test driving a few 2003 cobras and new shelby 500s with power windows which mine dont have its nice. but these 4.10s sure woke this 86 up. iam retired, got some money saved up for a newer faster car now, but most newer cars dont have auto trannys which i like.

Have the guys at the same Mustang shop throw a beefed up auto tranny in for you, once you get a Cobra or GT500.

No way will Ford put one in a Shelby. Sorry, just the way they are. But it's your car, do what you want. YOU will have the car for years to enjoy.
