i just bought a T-56 Tremec 6 spd of a Trans Am...will it work, or do i have to change the input shaft?...

LSx 6 speed won't swap to anything but another LSx engine...
So if the tranny is 98 up, it ain't gonna work, no way, no how.
If it is an LTx tranny, 93-97, then there is a good chance you can adapt it.
Whatever is needed to adapt a GM tranny...

The GM T56 is strong in general, the only weak spot is the synchros.
VERY weak synchros in those T56s. Use Honda synthetic ATF. That helps
some, compared to using the recommended Dexron ATF.
