I talked to another customer at Chicane Sport Tuning and he said that mid-length headers pass with the sniffer portion of the test but fails the visual. I found someone who would overlook the visual inspection as long as it passes the sniffer part. Do you guys know anything regarding passing emissions with mid-length headers?

they require the elimination of at least 2 cats. you have to depends on the 2 remaining cats to pass smog. the actually header has nothing to do with tailpipe emissions, the reason the midlengths are illegal is because they require that a non-OEM midpipe to be used.
