Well I was on vancouvermustangs.com looking for someone who could lend me an OBD code scanner, and a guy who owns a shop called Billy's Mustang Inc. told me I could bring it down and he'd run my codes for me (Ive been getting a CEL coming on after driving for a bit, but the car seems to run fine) So I looked at his site and he offers some common installations which generic shops seem to charge and arm and a leg for. There is also some good feedback on the site.

First question.. "Subframe Connectors With Seat Braces - Custom Fitted & Welded In - $239" how does this price sound? This is parts and labour all included. I asked if they were full length and I got "They go from the torque box all the way to the transmission cross member. Around 46" long." So is this what full-lengths are? I dont know anything about SFCs.

Second question.. is this a good deal for gears? Heres the ad:

"Mustang 1979 to 2004 8.8 Solid Axle & IRS

* New Gearset 3.55, 3.73, 3.90, 4.10, 4.30 - Motive Gears
* New Bearing Kit Includes Carrier Bearings, Pinion Bearings, Crush Sleeve, Pinion Seal.
* Remove & Install & Setup Gears, Bearings & Tighten Up Posi - Replace Up To 2 Worn Discs With Good Used Ones.
* New Fluid & Friction Modifier

*>$649.99 Parts & Labour<

* Add $50 For Ford Motorsport"

I also get 50 bucks off that price for being a vancouvermustangs.com member

All prices include tax

Thanks for opinions guys

Both sound like decent deals to me...

For the SFC, seems that they go for $100-$150 for then plus install, should be 2 hours install. Does he have pics of his SFC installs?

For the gears. The Additional $50 for FMS gears seems odd since these are often cheaper and easier to set-up... BUT plan on $150ish for gears, $100 for the bearing kit, $30 for fluids, tightening the posi, I would see about having it all done since the kit is ~$50... then labor runs typical about $300... So this seems about right to me...

Neither are SCREAMING deals but doing it right the first time is worth a LOT for both of these....

If the guys are known to do good work have them do it. Remember you get what you pay for. My experience from the shops that pride themselves in good service never quibble about fixing a problem that they may have created and/or missed.
Just my $.02 opinion.
