For a 295(12" section width) they say it should be on a minimum of a 10" wide wheel. On your 9" wheel it will be 1.5" from the bead to the outter tire edge on both sides of your wheel.
It would be possible to run your combo on a 9" front and 10" rear wheel width.
Your computer will need to be adjusted. The 295/40-20 is 29.5" tall...my 235/50-18's are 27.2" tall.
