will this computer work on my 2.3T?

Will an 87 Tbird computer/Merkur computer work on a 86 Tbird motor with a auto tranmission? i need to find a computer for my mustang

It will work but do you want large VAM or small VAM.

If large then the 8UA computer is what you need to use

Dude, Sometimes you need to read rather than post.




The 87 T-Bird should have an LA,LB or 8UA series computer. That being said it also has the large VAM. Here's the deal. The two are a package. Large VAMs go with Large VAM ecu's and vice-versa. The 86 IIRC was the last year for the small VAM So to make that computer work with your car, you'll need the VAM from the car the computer came out of.
