it started about a week ago and has happened twice. the original time and once after i replaced the switch. the drivers side window will roll down but wont roll back up. the second time it happend i sat there and clicked the button about ten times up and down and it finally rolled back up. im not too good with electrical work so any suggestions//solutions would be appreciated.

Does opening the door make it work all of a sudden (or not work)? You might have a marginal wire in the articulated boot in the door jamb.

Since it wont go back up, it leads me to believe the window motor is at fault. How old are they? Did you replace the switch trying to resolve this problem?

yes thats why i replaced the switch, both the window motors are less than six months old, and opening or closing the door doesnt make a difference.

The window motors have a safety clutch in them that consists of 3 plastic rollers. Sometimes the rollers will fragment and the window gets intermittent. Replacement roller kits are in the Help! section of most auto parts stores.

Here are some diagrams of the wiring...

I just had my passenger side window on my 94GT stop working with the window all the way down. I took off the door panel and use a small hammer and lightly tapped on the motor while holding the up botton and after a few taps, the window went right up. I guess it got stuck or seized.
