Just a heads up, my tint on my front 2 windows was 2 years old. Took it off yesterday using a steamer like this one:

Didnt do any of that ammonia/garbage bag in the sun crap. Just started at the corner and hit it with steam for about 30 seconds, then i could peel back enough tint to grip it. Then slowly pulled and hit the seam between the glass and the tint to heat up the glue/adhesive. I'd momentarily switch under to hit the tint that was still on the glass from below. Anyhow, was really easy, took about 10 minutes per window. I had VERY little glue left on the glass and glass cleaner + a razor blade handled that in one swipe. I probably coulda did it in 5 minutes per window with a little more glue left over. The key is to pull slowly to the steam can heat up the glue. If u do have some that sticks to the glass a trick i learned was to put the tint back up to the window, rub the spot where the glue is, then pull it back down. The glue usually came off.
Anyhow, just figured i'd give you guys a heads up. Most links on google refer to the old school garbage bag/ammonia method. The steamer works great. Not sure how it will be with tint that is really old and brittle, but its worth a try.
