Window Tint

Going home next week for twelve days and while I throw my new headlights in I was also thinking about getting my windows tinted. How dark is everyone's window tint. I was thinking about doing a 5% in the back window and 20% on the side. If you guys have some pics that would be great.

P.S. Mob since your car is white also what tint do you have?

I used 3M 20% (and its dark) although 35% is the legal limit here. They used to check and hand out tickets about 6-7 yrs ago but I guess the "new" wore off the tint meters and it isn't fun anymore, lol.

5% thats gonna be real dark when we had our lightning we had five on the back and side and it was so dark you could barley see at night. litterly it was black when you looked out so we always had the windows open too. 20 % all around will look good thats what im getting next week on my car i think it will look bada$$. but as for companies the place that people go around here is TNT tint.

I've been leaning towards getting one of those shnazzy graphics they sell for rear truck windows with all sorts of different designs available - I mean, being that a Fox notch has just about the same basic dimensions as a rear full-size truck window (with an added curve to it). There's a groovy old-school Air Force type logo with Bettie Page laying on it that I've really been giving the eye, but I do recall also seeing some Jolly Roger style graphics and a lot of others you might be interested in.

They don't kill visibility from the inside, as they're perforated with a bajillion little holes to see through, but they make it almost impossible for anyone to see inside your car from the outside. They do block a decent amount of sunlight/heat from coming in, too. I'm not sure if they apply to the inside or outside surface of the glass. JC Whitney and Summit Racing both have a slew of them for sale, and I'm sure you could find 'em on eBay or some other places, as well - heck, even Autozone can get a lot of 'em. They run anywhere from $80 to $120, depending on the size and style and such.

Just something you might consider. Y'know, kill two birds with one stone instead of doing separate tint and graphics applications.

i have 15% on my truck on the sides and rear window and it looks good in the rain, b/c you cant see in, but when it's sunny out you can see in perfectly fine. on my mustang i have 5% on the sides and rear window and it made the car look so much more badass then it looked before. it is tough to see at night unless there are other cars or street lights around, but if you don't mind only being able to see out of your windshield when there are no street lights, go for it! plus you can just put your windows down if its that important to see. go with five!
