Windsor Hood Clearence Issues

Getting ready to throw my 408 Stroker Windsor in my 87 GT. I'm using an Edelbrock Victor Jr. Intake, 850CFM Mighty Demon (no carb spacer), and a 2" or 3" A/C (whatever fits) with 1 1/4 Drop base. I have a 2.5" Cervines Mach 1 Cowl Hood on the car. Anyone out there running a 351W with a 2.5" cowl hood and a similar combination as mine. Did it fit? Do I have to get a bigger cowl hood?

I can tell you that I used a RPM intake with the stock 85 Air Cleaner on my 351w swap and it fit under the stock hood (barely). If this helps. . . check out Edelbrock online and see how much taller the Vic Jr is than the RPM and you could judge by that.

I think you will be ok. You have the low motor mounts in? If so, that Cervini's hood should clear just fine. I cant remember which intake I have the performer or Vic jr? ??? Anyway, I have the full carbon fiber hood on my 95 and it's rise is only 1 1/2 inches over stock and I have lots of clearance under there.

Mine fits under my Harwood 4" with plenty of room. I dont have dropped motor mounts on it.
The Harwood 4" I have is very similar to the height of my friends Cervinis 2 1/2" cowl. They must measure differently, or I got the wrong hood when I ordered it.

im using the edelbrock victor 5.8 EFI intake on mine and with my cervinis 2.5 hood it just barly rubs the front of the upper intake..so you should be fine..also..using stock style motor mounts

You gonna have to get atleats a 2 1/2 inch cowl hood but i would get a 4 to 5 inch so you can have room for the K & N air filter.
