Anyone know much about the cast windsor JR. heads from WORLD perfomance? I am about to drop a 306 in my 89 GT, and I will be running a kb blower at 8psi (street) to 10-12 psi (track). You guys think these heads are to small to make 450+hp? I believe they have a 58cc combustion chamber and 170cc intake, but not sure.

I don't know the flow data, if anyone could give thier input or a link i would be very appreciated.

out of the box the windsor jrs are basically the same flow wise as gt40 heads from what i've heard. PORTED I've heard they flow with AFR heads... I've had ported windsor jr's on an old combo and the car moved nicely. 89 LX hatch--handling suspension, 306, ported windsor jrs, 3.55s, gt40 intake, 24#maf....and car ran 12.4 @116 mph

I would say if ported they are good heads plus usually the price you can get them for is pretty good as well.

i dont think that they overly too small, but i think that you could get other heads for a similar price. for just a few hundred more, you could up it to a better TFS or something similar head.

no flow #'s, but I had dyno'd the car with basically intake, exhaust, with most of the little bolt ons, (check sig) and made those #'s, all with driveability problems and bad exhaust leaks. Same day went to the dyno, a friend had similar mods w/out of the box edelbrocks, and made less power, 257rwhp, don't know if he had any issues as well. I think a lot of people don't like the heads, but I'm very pleased, but they had a nice port and polish done to them. I would estimate another 10hp or so once my exhaust leaks were corrected. I'm sure there are other heads that have more potential, just depends on the combination. If you have the money, a lot of people have good success with afr's, or tfs, and I'm sure they have more room for improvement than windsor jr's.
