Junkyard is cheaper, but a common problem in the JY, is that they are cracked from the front to the drivers wiper hole.

www.50resto.com has them bu they are pricey. Try the dealer.

They are nearly impossible to remove without cracking too so a junkyard might be difficult

Wow!!!!

$205.00 ??????

Pricey ain't the word!!!!!!!!

Get out the KY Jelly!

Get some epoxy and a piece of plastic to put behind the crack to support it and repair the thing.

BTW, I have a crack on mine too, right by the drivers side wiper hole...
I'm going to glue it this week because there is no way I will pay $205.00 for a piece of plastic that is worth $10.00 tops.

One other thing, the junkies seem to know when certain parts are outrageously priced and they adjust their prices accordingly.

I would try to find a pick-and-pull salvage yard (a yard that lets you pull your own parts). You could probably grab one for 30 bucks at the most.

Look in the classifieds as well for cars that are being parted out.

$168.63 from http://www.directfordparts.com

Mine is cracked too, but I think I'll try to plastic weld it first before paying that even.

The problem is at junkyards people try and get them out without taking off the parts around them and they break. To properly remove them you need to unbolt the fenders and drip rails otherwise there isn't enough flex in that piece to get around those parts and they just break. I've gotten them for $15 before but lately they are already broken before I get to them at the junkyard.

Yeah, they are a PITA to remove without damaging. They become brittle over the years

BTW--Read the project writeup the other day Bill Looking forward to more progress pictures/info

Yep very brittle. I broke the one on my 2000 way to easily and that really pissed me off the one on my '95 was already broken but if I can't find one at the junkyard I'll just glue and paint it.

Cool thanks. Although it's a lot of work I'm having fun doing a ground up build on it. In fact I'm heading to the junkyard tomorrow morning to pick up the last few body pieces I need so I can start body prep.

Their price jumped up into the $200 range not more than a week or so ago. I ran across 5 Mustangs at the junkyard and only one had a good cowl panel...$9.
