Hello,

I have been having issues with my wipers not working at all on my 89 LX. It came with 2 wiper motors off of the car and no wiper governor. I have as of this point confirmed the motors spin with a test wire from the battery, installed a used wiper governor from eBay, and I have confirmed I'm getting 12 volts on the red wire at the wiper motor. Every wire at the wiper motor gets voltage whether the switch is on or not but it's usually something like 06.00 or less no matter the switch position (hi,lo,int, off) depending on setting I will get minute changes in voltage. From all of the forums I've read on this issue I think it's either the switch or a ground issue potentially to g102 which I have no idea where it is. Before I start throwing parts anyone have any suggestions?

G102 - Top RH side of radiator support above headlamp

Your symptoms sound to me, more like a short than a weak ground but it's worth looking into.

Let us know what you find out about 102.

I believe I've cleaned that one already. And that's very possible as I even probed the wiper motor end that actually hooks to the wipers and even that had voltage for some reason. Not sure where the short would be at though.

Your wire voltage conditions don't seem to be the issue by itself as there are [lots] of simultaneously energized wires in that circuit.

This is helpful I'd like to know what voltages to expect at the wiper motor if anyone has any of that information? I could just throw a new wiper motor on there but it seems unlikely to me if I can jumper them and they spin.

It's system voltage (12V).

On every wire it's supposed to be? Because if so I only have the red 12 volts and the rest is low which would make me think the switch is bad.

Yep. Every one. In the diagram, you see that there are different coils that are fed for Hi/Low. Both coils are fed by the same switch and relay.

This was 100% the multi function switch popped a new one in works like a charm. Anyone in the future if you are getting serious under voltage on like all of the wiper wires it's most likely that.
