I am pretty much done my wire hiding with the exception of the starter solenoid. I thought I had a good spot for it (beside washer resevoir, on the frame rail) but when its there the inner fender wont go back on :(. Where can I put it? And I dont think my starter cable will reach many other places...can it be lengthened and how?

Derek

You can buy a new longer wire for the starter or make you own. You may want to keep it in the engine bay, bring it through the washer res hole. If you need to use a timing light and you can not get to the solenoid it can be a pain.

On cars I eliminate the washer bottleon, I put it right inside the hole on the rail so you can get to it if needed. On cars where the washer res needs to be retained I mount the solenoid on the rear of the driverside shock tower.

This may seem so oblivious that it is dumb, but you would be surprised at the number of people it gets. It seems to ding every second or third guy who tries to hide the wires and hasn’t done it before.

Mark each wire with a tag telling where it goes before you disconnect it. Draw a picture or take a digital photo of the tagged wiring. Make a list of the tags and their wire colors and what they connect to. Like I said, it seems stupid and repetitive, but it will keep you out of trouble.

Yeah, I tagged everything, but at the end of the day, none of the harnesses will connect to the wrong harness!

I have solved my solenoid problem. I am going to scrap the washer fluid resevoir (I never use it), and mount the solenoid in that vicinity.

Also, where do you guys hide the sensor that is behind the intake on the firewall?

Derek

I am in the middle of the same project except im welding in all the holes. I am keeping those 10 pins out but im going to try and hide them behind intake some how...because obviously they go to your injectors etc...etc
