Looks good man. You gotta spray that engine bay now. Your car is nice, and you just put all wires away. You gotta spray the bay. Even if it's just flat black spray can. Nice job!!!

i was planning on it, but theres a lot of grease and debris i have to get cleaned up first. next time im at the car wash im gonna spray it down.
than use a die grinder with a wire brush to get the surface rust off. ill probably just rattle can it black after that.

Man just go to Autozone or Walmart and buy a few cans of GUNK Engine Brite and spray the whole doghouse down...just soak the whole thing even the lower part of the engine where there's nothing that it might hurt. Let it sit for 15-20 and use a garden hose to wash it all off. I did this when i first got my car...here's before and after:

Granted the valve covers are painted and it's got the cheapo breather on it and the AC is gone, look at everything else how much cleaner it is. Sure it's no show car but looks way better. You could go so far as to wrap your engine in plastic bags and get out some Rustoleum black and spray a decent coat down and it would look waaaay better.

What a difference's in an engine bay

were you able to reuse the plastic wheelwell liners with the starter relay and wires mounted as low as you have it?

A die grinder will be perfect to remove all the rust. I have a MAC angled die grinder with 3" cut off wheels I use. Then smooth those with 80 grit, prime and paint it. My 91 engine bay is rattle can black. Looks fine now 2 years later. My 81 engine bay I did with professional paint, but I had more time on my hands with this one....here are some pics.

You really went nuts with that engine bay. I was looking at your cardomain page and saw that there are no holes for the fenders to bolt to, how do you plan on bolting your fenders down?

Yes im still in the process..I still smothing out some stuff.I have the marks to make the holes but haven't decided if i want to add the holes to insert the treaded tab or install some thead inserts and just enlarge the fender holes for alignment .That way you can get a cleaner looks. I've been working on my gas tank modification, I'll post some more pictures later.. Thanks for looking at my cardomain..This picture is what your talking about right?
