Does anyone know of a tool use to remove the pins (i.e. push the wires out of) from our electrical connectors? Say I want to remove the pins from the MAF sensor plug to replace a frayed wire, isn't there a tool to do that? Thanks!

John, I use a dental pick but I am thinking FFI has to have something. I imagine you might be ordering from them anyhow for your harness overhaul, so it might be worth asking (I thought I had seen a tool there but cant find it).

Good luck.

forget how the maf plugs are but if they are liek the small white ones where the pin pushes in and theres a small metal piece that pops out then yeah there is a tool for that not sure where one can buy it at though. I'm like JT i use a pick on my strobe cables if need be

You can get a universal kit off of the parts trucks (cornwell, etc) that will work for GM/Ford/etc connectors. If it's like the plug on the transmission VSS, a very small and thin/flat screwdriver will get the tab off of the molex tab and you can pull the wire out.

If it's the same, it will look like this. The red line is the plastic tab that holds the molex connector inside the plug. A eye glass screwdriver is small enough to get in there.
