1990 foxbody lx hatchback 5.0 wires behind the driver side kick panel I have a gray plug not connected what does it go to and should I plug it up

Yes it has another gray plug 2 connect 2 but it's been unplugged since I've had the car but it's not been drove much and has running issues so I'm wondering if it is important
