Wiring up '87+ headlight bulbs into a typical 4 eye light housing...can it be done?

I'm thinking hard about some different stuff to do to my car, and part of it might include going from 4 eyes to 2 eyes....but i don't want to lose my brights so i was thinking, is there a way i could modify a pair of typical bulbs that 4 eye cars have to accept the high/low beam lights that '87+ cars have? Maybe i'd have to do some kind of fiberglass or something for the back of the bulb, and then of course the glass would be reusable, and just the bulb would twist out the back just like an aero headlight.

I'm not very electrical savvy so how would i go about wiring up my low/high beams to the single bulb?

you want to put an areo front end on your car? I think if you are looking for a change in your cars apperence paint would be a good option.

HEEEEELL no...lol, i'm thinking of taking 2 lights out....it's complicated  Either way i've been thinking of doing this light thing because it would be that much brighter. And the paint, well there's new doors and a little body work coming this winter before paint happens.

Stay 4 eyes!!! Everyone has the 87-93 aero fox look covered. The rest of us us are a dieing breed, keep it retro! Long live the the 4 eyed fox!

Just a 12.53 sec streeter 4 eye!

LOL damn it, i guess i made the title a little unclear.

I want to use the BULBS out of '87+ headlights inside the actual bulb of the 4 eye lights. The lights on a 4 eye are removeable/throw away once they're blown. I'm looking to fab up something so i can use the high/low abilities of one single light so i can do this:

I'll probably get flamed but something about it is really intriguing to me...i really think it looks mean as hell with one light on each side. Either way, whether i do that or not is irrelevant, i still want to do something with the lights if nothing more than to make them brighter. I'd sell my car and buy an aero car if i wanted an aero nose :D

Are you saying you want to keep the 4eye look but, use the 87-93 bulb in on 4eye bulb case?? What would you do with the other light?

But anyway, wiring isn't that hard. To do what you are saying just splice an 87-93 headlight plug onto you older hanress. Use a test light to figure out what wires are for low and high beams, or get a wire diagram. Then once you splice the newer plug onto the older hanress, you will have to figure out the mounting situation. But as far as wiring goes, if Ii remeber correctly, the wire colors are the same for different years, just plug shapes are different. just helped a buddy add 90 mustang harnesses into a 79 fairmont. And we had to swap the 87-93 light plug with the ones fromt he fairmont. And the wires where the same color just had to match colors up for high & low beams..

look into truck lights i know a guy cruising around here in a 1978 ford pick up had halogen lights in what looks like the stock lense. It would look like what you want with the areo bulb inside. I think he got em off ebay.

This company http://www.ramairbox.com/ make some badass ram air setups (if i don't just use my stock duel snorkel) but they have this awesome headlight snorkel kits like this Buick has:

Picture something like that in place of my inner headlights, only in more of a rectangular shape so they look similar to the lights.

Those are pretty cool looking but they're a little too bling on the inside....i'd like to have that back bulb housing but with a typical glass lense and without that space ship looking chrome inside.

I think a lot of people are going to be iffy about this idea untill they see it put together...then i think it'll be a hit. The Thunderbolt certainly pulled it off...and that Buick looks badass...it's sort of a function before style kind of deal.

i was thinking about this also. maybe taking headlight lenses from a 97 chevy truck or a bodystyle like that since it is long and skinny. it also has 2 bulbs in it. you can just modify it to fit. they might be a little skinny though. what you need to do is measure how tall and how long both headlights are on the 4 eye. you can then go to a junkyard and start measureing headlight lenses that would be the same dimensions or close enough to modify.
