With all the Capri talk - I'm surprised nobody mentioned this article!

I was just thinking that Ford should have put the Capri fenders on the Mustang in '87 when the Capri was gone.

But then every one would be trying to put the "79-86" Mustang fenders on their cars now.

"It kind of reminds me of the Monte Carlo SS but not nearly as ugly" thats what I was thinking when I saw that particular air dam. but the monte is one of the few gm cars I'd ever consider owning. My car is a 84 notch with t tops that the PO put a 87 nose on. Some year I'd like to either put a capri nose on it or a 79 pace car nose. i'd trade it for that red one though!!

I don't know why I'm bothering to mention this, since I hate it when people mix Capri and Mustang parts anyhow, but some Mexican Mustangs came with Capri fenders and bubble hatches from the factory. And just as well, those SVO sail panels also came on ASC McClaren Capris. So, at least in the international and/or special edition sense, maybe those aren't EXCLUSIVELY Capri or Mustang parts.

However, I still don't dig on that notch. With that '82 GT nose, it looks like a squished Monte Carlo SS.

For what it's worth, you should all be saying the Monte SS looks like a '79 Pacecar and/or '82 GT since Chevy didn't have that nose until '83.

I'm sorry that car is just a work of art. The Capri rear fenders, the older nose, the lights in the molding, the older style molding on the car (or lack of molding) its just a nicely done detailed car.

Basically it breaks down that it's mostly Capri (aside from being a coupe). The moldings are Capri (Mustang didn't get turn signals in the molding) but the nose of course is Mustang. What i think is probably the most stupid looking part of the whole car is how the Capri AND Mustang side marker lights are on the front. He should've left the Capri lights off...it's just too much.

The name has been around for a while. Lincoln even had it's own version before Mercury.

the only thing I really like about that red car is the wheels. BBS RK's are one of if not the hottest wheels on the market.
