Wix oil filter users

Do you mean oil filters that hold more oil than normal to avoid dry startups?

It is kind of tough to explain. In fact, I didn't notice the startup shake for many years of ownership.

I can say that with some filters, like AC Delco, I used to get engine shake/quiver on startup. Always in the morning after the car sat overnight. I'm assuming that some anti-drain valves don't work as well as others. Otherwise daily startups were all good, without any shake.

A while back I wanted more filtration, so I switched from AC Delco to Purolator Pure One. I didn't get any better filtration, from what I could tell. But the startup engine shake, which I always thought was normal (dry friction), was gone. Weird, I know.

Anyway, today I'm looking for better filtration, but I want to keep the "no shake" startup. I don't want to go too far beyond $7 per filter, so Mobil 1 or K&N are not good for me.

The only other in Purolator Pure One's range is Wix.

Most 5.0 owners may not even be aware of the shake/no shake startups to comment on Wix oil filter.

Sorry, if I'm making a big deal out of maintenance, but I currently don't plan to do any modifications.

I've never really experienced a startup shake in any of my FOrds that I know of -- but I do know that the PureOne is one of the better filters on the market. Personally, I've used Mobil-1 before and liked them, but I tend to just stick the with the Ford filters now. You can search the webn and find all different opinions and technical info on them. Wix is a good filter as well, but I don't see a reason to switch froma PureOne.

motorcraft all the way, ive also got a filter magnet on the side....it actually works. we cut open one of my old filters one time at work and there was lots of little metal pieces....like metal dust in there

I use WIX all the time..... Great Filter. Just stay away from cheapo brand's like Fram, Wal Mart Special's etc. etc. As long as the filter has an anti drain back valve which most of them do now a day's and it's a reputal brand then chance's are there good. Those Filter Mag's are an excellent investment.... I highly recomend to all that they spend a bit of cash and get themselve's one. Your engine will love you even more.
