Hello all!!

I'm buying another Mustang soon and it is lacking the Mach 460 stuff. I have a pair of the tweeters laying around and I would like to add them to the car, but I noticed there's no provision on the door panel for them.. Has anyone added a set to their non 460 car?

Thanks!!

When your head unit goes south[and it will],you are very limited as to what will replace it.I changed my Mach 460 over to all aftermarket stuff and love it!Sounds much better.I went with an Alpine amp,JVC headunit[MP3 compatable],and Boston Acoustic speakers. In the front, they put the tweeters in the 460 triangles in the window area;sounds very clear.Since you don't have the triangles, check with a stereo shop on their recommendations on where to put the tweeters.

I have the triangle speakers for the doors, and I want to add them. I like how clear they are, IMO, they sound better than MOST aftermarket tweeters.. either they're high pitched or not enough.. the Mach 460's are just right.

I would think you could just mount them where the plain peices were. Take one off. I'll bet they mount-up the same.

I put some OE Ford tweeters on the non-Mach460 triangles. They are nice. Lots of midrange, actually. I cut a hole the size of the tweeter and just superglued it in place on each side. They came with capacitors, so no crossover need, too.

I would have pics, but Canon has my camera for repairs.

The bottoms of the speakers fit down into the door panel also. So if I was to install them, I'd have to trim the panel slightly. I may just say to hell with it and get a set of panels from a Mach 460 car.
