I live in tulsa. last year I had a ford dealership put in racing gears. I had a 12 month 12k mile warranty on them.

Yesterday I took my car into the shop (in tulsa). the differential housing bell was leaking.
The service man said it wasnt a part warranty issue. it was a worksmanship issue. the part warranty was 12k miles.

I was hoping since it was a worksmanship problem I could get it fixed for free. but I guesss its s losing battle. right? are there any ford dealership mechanics on the forum that think Ihave a case for them to fix it? it wuold be easier for them at this point to say the gasket went bad and since I have over 12k miles, too bad

any advice?

Don't ever listen to the "service guy." As soon as he says its not covered, get a manager. As soon as the service manager says its not covered, get his boss whether its the GM or Owner or whatever. I don't know what you were told when you had it installed, but if you were lead to believe the whole set-up (and not JUST parts) would be warrantied, explain that to the manager. Also, any legit dealership would back-up their work. Since the guy already told you it was a worksmanship problem, the dealer should be willing to take car of it. Also, any chance you can find out why its a workmanship problem? What exactly did they do wrong?

Hell no, gaskets like that don't go bad for years. If it's leaking then it was either improperly installed or they used a damaged gasket in the first place (which should be visibly obvious). Either way, you PAYED them to install it so it's their ass.

You need to look at your paper work. If it states there is only a 12/12K warranty, then there is nothing to be done. If the parts and labor are shown to run concurrent to your factory warranty, then you have the right to be mad!
