Would 4.10's be too much for me now?

My annoyances include too loud, bucking and some smoothing issues in the RPM. After kicking around options, to get rid of the bucking, I could change cams but that would lose me some power. Its a third car so if I could get rid of a coupla issues then the cam may not bug me so much.

I would like to have more power on the b-way. To get a new trans would cost me at least $1000+ even after selling mine.:notnice: If I go with a .74 5th gear on my g-force, it would be $600 :notnice:/or/ I could go with a set of 4.10's and rev at the same RPM as the .74 gear for -> $450 roughly.

Then the driving in town and bway would improve with 4.10's as I would always be out of bucking range. At 60 I would be revving at 2000 instead of 1750 and 65 2200 instead of 1900. This would solve the issue but do I have too much power for 4.10's? If I kept this cam, we would be tuning it to rev to say .. 6700 rpm.

For the loudness I could get SLP cats.. This is a less $$$ way to go for me and I could get street slicks down the road.

I have 4.10s and honestly I hate it but right now I'm not dialed in. In town it sucks because and can't just idle down the strip or anything I'm sure it has to do a-lot with it not being tuned yet but i would have liked to gone down set now after having these but I guess it's all about what you want. DO you want a street legal car that is wicked on the track that is your weekend car or is this your everyday car? If it's a everyday car I wouldn't go with 4.10s mine isn't an everyday car and I still kinda hate it driving it around town I hope it fixes it when i Get it tuned but if it doesn't then i'm riding the bull holding on looking like a fool..............hahaha I had 3.73s loved them but once again it's if you want it for crusing or what you want to do with you Mustang now or your plans in the future

i think you are really trying to bandaid the issue man... I think you need a more mild cam and a re-tune but thats just me

Yes I am baindading the poop out of it. I have been around in a comlpete circle. I went , different cam  ->different trans  ->different rear  ...add slicks, ->cam. I just dont want to give up any HP but I may have to for driveability. Considering I am at the lower RPMs 90% time, I should make the car more sensible down there rather than rocking the heel out me for <10% of the time I am past 6000.

imo keith, you would hate 4.10s on your car after a while.

talk about no traction.

my logic exactly. that is why i focused on maxxing the lower and mid range torque

and bro, don't worry about the numbers. people don't drive numbers around. there is always someone with a faster car ... don't sweat it. make your car a car you like to drive and you'll be happy with it.

Thats a bit of a haul. But I'll consider it. But what makes you guys think I can tune it out considering my radical cam specs? Also, Chris, my first gear is longer -- 2.95 not 3.35 like stock and my OD or 5th is longer -- .64 not .68 like stock..
