would a c4 slow me down?

i never had a c4 ,always t5s and get some decent times but most fast stangs are packing c4s and was wondering if on a stock long block with say ported stock heads and good induction run better than t5

the motor won't run better with the C4, the guys with the decent times have consistency going for them. Plus you have to build the C4 right to hold up to the abuse. In other words, decent times with a stick have a bunch to do with practice and experience on the track with a stick. If you want to be consistent on the track, go with auto trans.

Great automatic tranny for drag racing; little parasitic HP loss compared to the AOD, and are relatively lightweight for an auto trans. They can be built to handle quite a bit of power too.
Downside is that you don't have an overdriven gear in the C-4, so on the freeway you will really miss having the OD trans.
