Would I benefit from a set of LTs?

Just like the title. I picked up this 88 last weekend, and I was thinking with the power it was making, I could gain some by switching to longtubes?

I was thinking that at least. I've had a few different people tell me though that I'll actually lose power by switching out the shorties. What's your opinion?

I don't know, I was wondering the same thing a week or so ago....then I was told I should just keep my shorties b/c I wouldn't notice that much of a difference

i doubt you would notice the difference but there is a that when holley tests there systemax II package they did so with long tubes not with shorties. it will make more power with LT's

The power difference is minimal.

I'm going longtubes for different reasons...but I would just keep shorties if you got them.

Longtubes have more cons than pros IMO.

i prefer LT's and i think you need biger TB go for 70mm

and one of the major cons is the 02 sensors cool off more(more downstream) and give a false reading for the air/fuel mixture, for when its idling for a period of time etc. Some people dont any problems, some do...

I would stick with what you are using too. Long tubes are cool, but they are a pain to deal with. If you have emissions, you will need to either take them off or get another mid-pipe for LTs. Also, if you are not careful, you can burn up clutch cables as they run close to the tubes.
