I figured out last wk that my Harmonic balancer is bad. So I decided not to trust the readings it was giving and to just retard the timing until it ran nice and wasn't pinging. I started with 8* then 6* and finally ended up leaving the timing at 3* according to the harmonic balancer. The Car is not pinging, running strong and idling much better than before. So I guess I'm wondering would it even run right if I was actually running 3* timing? Or is it possible I'm really running a lot more timing and the readings the HB are giving me are just that far off. Any input is appreciated. Thanks guys.

Run as much as you can w/o hearing detonation. Your car is NA so you could get away with a good 15*. I had my car @ 4* at once so it's possible but you lose a lot of hp. These 94/95 comuters are so finicky that do whatever you gotta do to get it running properly. If your car likes 3* and you have no isssues leave it, b/c all of these cars run differently.

Yeah I wasnt going to mess with it since it feels like its running great. Its the first time it hasnt been pinging since I put on my Tmoss ported intake a couple months back. I love the way it feels right now and it doesnt feel like its down on power. I guess I need to replace my HB and figure out if its really at 3* or not. Thanks,
