Would YOU Buy It?

90 LX, salvage title, no outside body damage, but a crack or two in the drivers innner fender, been on a frame rack and came out true.

145-150psi compression on all cylinders. Does not seem to burn any oil.. But it does throw out a load of black smoke under hard accleration.

Codes 33, 41, and 91. I figure the o2's are shot. The EGR I am not that worried about.

Paint job is amatur at best. Rock chips have been painted over, and there is a quarter sized dent in the cowl panel, about 1/2" deep.

The guy is asking $3500, but I don't know if I would even give 2k for it because of the body and title... But I really like that it seems to run well and will not need much, if any work. Maybe just smaller injectors and some o2's

How much do y'all think it is worth? Anything else I should look for besides compression, codes, smoke, and fluids?

Eh, put it in the wrong place... Soooo... To make it techy.... How hard is it to bolt a rear end up? I am going to put my UPR LCA/UCA and eibach springs on it, as well as my 50/50's and bolt it up as soon as I get the axles and spool in. Just wondering how hard it is to get the control arms bolted up.

I bought my car with a salvage title, wasnt too worried about it because the car is not worth that much anyway. Run a carfax report on it. As it turned out, mine was just a unrecovered theft and in NY where the car was stolen, they put a reconstructed or a salvage title on the car, even if there isnt anything wrong with it. The biggest thing to check is how hard the title is going to be to transfer into your name, usually if the car is bought in the state it is going to stay in, there isnt much of a problem, but if you are transferring the car to a different state, it can be a major PITA like mine was, i had to wait about 3 months to get a tag for the car. PA made me fill out a questionaire about the condition of the car and they wanted pics of the 4 corners on the outside at a certain angle, and you have to take it to be "partially" inspected so you can send the tag papers into the state. When i say partially inspected, they basically go over everything and put a half of an inspection sticker on the car and send it away, then when you get it back, they inspect it again, and the mechanic has to sign the front of all the pics. I knew someone who took care of everything for me, but some mechanics wont even mess with it because its so time consuming. I dont know if your state is going to make you do all of that or not, but i am just giving you my experience with it.
