would you buy this stang?

A 86 gt 5.0 for 300 bucks...Guy said the starter is stuck in the on position and chewed up the flywheel (he thinks). Oh and it has a 89 front end..lol. Havent seen it yet, gonna see it this evening.

Never had to deal with fly wheel issues, so my question is: When you replace a fly wheel is there a crapload of other stuff that has to be replaced? Dont really want to get into another project but a stang for 300 is hard to pass up.

Is the car a 5 speed? If so then you might as well put a clutch in it while your in there. Aside from some little things like the rear main seal you really dont have to replace anything else.

Me and a friend of mine find cars like this all the time...we do turn arounds on'em. Fix whatever's wrong with it and if you don't see any potential in keeping the car, clean it up and sell it for a profit.

that's a fantastic price. Flywheels are an easy replacement. About a good day or two if you're not experience, just pull the trans and the clutch/flywheel.

buy the car, put a foureyed86 nose back on and enjoy.

:rlaugh:

ummm, I would figure out what actually happened to the car. The flywheel is directly related to the crankshaft. If this damage happened at speed, there could be more serious problems.

:stupid: it's a no brainer. can't go wrong - just for parts. if your gonna keep it, put the 86 nose back on. that thing can't be looking too clean now. plan on putting some time in though.
