Spent today installing the spare A4LD in the 89 notch. It works, shifts into 4th and locks the converter clutch. 1900 rpm at 50 mph, I love it.
A mother of a job. I can have the C4 out and back in my 82 in about 4 hours. This one took 8 plus.
Reminded me why I took all the non essential stuff off the 82.
Both the spare trans and the one in the car have been apart, and no two bolts took the same wrench.
I have the ATSG manual and the update book, and I was expecting a dual solenoid trans, and both turned out to be single solenoid units. I was upset to the max until I took the pan off the second one!
This thing is coming together, the fan works, the ac works and the od works!
