So I often like to look for 65 and 66 fastback mustangs on Ebay and I really saw a doozy today. Its a 289 coupe, but the guy has it listed as a fastback. On top of that its running stock iron heads with 1.94 chevy valves, performer intake, carb and cam, and he claims its making 400 NA horses to the wheels. He also says it has an 8 3/4 rearend!!! Isnt that a mopar rearend?? Anyways, I called him on these issues and hes calling me the idiot. Unfortunately he has it set as a private auction so I cant inform the bidders of his stupidity. So maybe you guys can call him or email him since his number is listed in the listing and let him have it for trying to scam people. Just type in 1966 fastback in search and its the first car, its blue with white stripes.

Here is a paste of his reply to my email:
Scott,

It is obvious you know very little and have far to much time on your hands hence your incoherent rambles and your very bad conspiracy theories. For your information the car is fast really fast, like this, see my hand? Zooooooooooooom fast ya know? And I r think it is fasterer than your car AND AND I would hate to be such a big fat doody head like you.

Your momma wears combat boots

I believe this qualifies as "talk" and the heretofore mentioned "bitching"...

In the days before aftermarket Ford cylinder heads, the use of 1.94 Chevy valves was very common. In fact I had some in my C9OE 351W heads in my 69 Mach. The Ford 8 3/4 inch rearend is also true. It is basically a light duty 28 spline 9 inch with a smaller 8 3/4 inch ring gear. My 69 Mach came from the factory with one.

Tell you what, if Im so wrong then find me someone on this site making 470 flywheel horsepower with 295 cubic inches, stock heads, performer intake, no dyno tune, and a stock bottom end. The guy has never answered me as to what parts are in the motor and if you are going to sell a car like that wouldnt you want to share that info to help the sale. The point is someone is listing a bogus product on Ebay and its a product we are all familiar with. Did you not see the stock dizzy and fuel delivery system in the pictures? The bent up original steel fuel line?

IndyBlk has way more speed parts than this goon and yet he is over 100 horses short.
Yeah Im being a real dick about it because some poor sap is going to get screwed royally on this deal. Whats not technical about discussing engine combos that can and cant make that much power.
When it comes to making NA power, 3 factors come into play, displacement, compression and airflow. There is no displacement with a 289, no airflow with mild valves and unported stock cast iron heads, and we dont even know the comp because it isnt listed but it would have to be at least 11.5 to 1 which wont even run on pump gas. I dont even see how a stock 66 dizzy is going to power the spark needed for that.
So lets discuss what it would take to make that kind of power in a 289 instead of sparking a flame war by name calling.

I wanted to see what was what with this. They added this. Maybe you got through to the seller even though he was a prick with his reply. Since that made you angry when he replied to you with that prick message, ever think what other stangers feel when you reply to them with short angry messages?

PLEASE READ

For those of you who might be confused with our title "Fastforward Fastback". We only included this in our title because Ebay will soon be auctioning off one of the new 2005 Fastbacks. We do realize that this is a coupe so please be sure to let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thanks and happy bidding!

It doesn't matter how many posts you have. Just because you spend way more time posting doesn't mean you post anything worth reading. I agree with MY, move this crap to talk, and e-mail ebay. If you want to take action, go ahead.

:nice:

The ORIGINAL post was not directed in any way towards a technical discussion...
