He was talking about reversing them so the big end mounts on the axle. This will give you more room where the tire should be.

It will probably still touch. If you dont want to remove the quad shock, you can run a small spacer like this,

They're around $12 from summit. If you go with 1/4" or less, you shouldn't need longer studs.

just a wild stab, but is there any way to use some washers to space the quad shocks away from the frame and tire??

My Goodyears are a good bit wider than the Nitto's, I think that was my problem.

Yup you're right on the tire widths. Cobra123 if you need spacers then get em'. It will look better anyway. Low50's right you won't need longer studs with a 1/4" spacer. They must be A LOT wider than the nitto drags if you're running into that problem, or youhave a goofy offset. Good luck with it...

OK, first question... did you check BOTH sides? The reason I ask is there is a slight possibility if you are having this many problems that the rear might not be centered in the car. Check both sides and see if you have the same problem. If you don't, then you need to inspect the control arms and such to see why the rear isn't centered in the car. I took some pics...

As you can see I have NO clearance issues and they are not flipped. You can also see that if they were flipped I'd have even more clearance, but its not needed so i didn't do it. Hope this helps,
-Paul

Brien, I'm glad it worked for you. You had me worried for a second because I could NOT figure out why you'd have a problem. Your pads are cobra specific (they are thinner than the GTs due to the vented rotor), as for shocks I don't know what to tell you. I JUST put the strange ones in the picture above on and only drove the car about 20 miles. The car rides rougher than before, but I have them on setting 5 out of 8 and I have coil overs up front now with adjustable struts, so I need to play with it more before I pass judgement on them.
