WTF - 895 Belt fit for a week but stretched THIS much?

I went through the whole find a belt routine that fit when I took the Smog pump off. Oh Reallys only had metric belts that were on either side of the traditional 895-905 most of you seem to use. I tried the one that was 89 1/8 and two of us couldn't get it on the pullies. Pep Boys only had the 905 - that was too big. They finally ordered me a the 895 and it seemed to fit great. Was tight enough to keep the tensioner more than half way down. I've driven the car hard for a week with it. This morning, fired it up and clank..... clank...... ........ ....... clank. The tensioner will occasionally bottom out when idling.

I'm headed to the track Friday night and I either need an 895 that won't stretch or try get a third friend to beat the hell out of the 89 1/8 belt from Oh Reallys and force it to fit hoping it stretches to the 89.5 size.

Any suggestions????

my 895 fits fine. maybe the tensioner is shot?

Took 2 men and a horse (exagerating of course) to get the tensioner pulled while trying all these belts. But I'll check it again tonight to see if something happened. I assumed the belt is at a fault... could be wrong. Thanks for the idea.
