man this is depressing, i have a bad squeal coming from around the compressor area whether the a/c is on or off, so i'm guessing it's the pulley. would i have to change everything?

wat a piece of crap, went to the junk yard and put a new pulley and low mile clutch on this POS. it's working fine now and very quiet and AC blows great. i bet this things gonna screw me over in like 2 days again. See, this is why i'm a frikin alcoholic :banghead:

thanks for all the help and reply svttech and coramparat, I really appreciated it.

BRute for the love of God, please, PLEASE just change the frikin clutch.. it's 40 bucks at the dealer, the dealer is the only place i know that sells the clutch seperate from the pulley and coil.. the clutch is stupid simple to replace..literally, just remove the 8mm bolt, and pull the clutch out and slap a new clutch on.. it shouldnt take more than 3 maybe 4 minutes.

No it's not supposed to be in two pieces..

Looks like you have a cat that is interested in car repair LOL

I wonder why they could not get the coil off but maybe if the coil did not get filled with metal it might last.

you should be fine.. it would be making noise by now if it was going to fail because of the coil

...I can take it. I think.

I would look at the tensioner or idler pulleys 1st. Even when my AC pulley began falling apart it never really squealed so much as rattled.

i already changed the idler pulley thinking it was the culprit, but no dice. the tensioner seemed fine too. when i turn the AC on it squeals a lot worse so i'm thinking/hoping that's the cause
