ive been trying to find an 8.8 rearend for awhile now and i was calling around to the metro area yards today the only place that had one was foster auto parts they wanted 450$ w/o axles or brakes ive seen parts cars go for less. how much did you guys pay from your 8.8?

I got mine for free so I don't know if those are good prices or not... sounds like if you were going to buy one, the one on craigslist would be your best buy, half the price and already has 3.73's

Would be a good buy, but I already bought it.
I could sell you the 8.8 with 2.79 gears for $100 out of 89 gt.

are there any pull a part yard in your area, I get mine for about 80 bucks drum to drum.

Cry me a river. Try to find a limited-slip 8" diff. Our center sections pop in and out with 12 bolts in about ten minutes, so you can literally change your rear gearing at the track: drive down on 2.79 and pop in a 4.11 to do your passes. B/c of this, they're in massive demand -- I've seen rebuilt ones "on sale" for $600 + shipping. I paid less for both my engines.
