I was looking at my 5.0 Mustang magazine and found a place that sold AOD to T-5 conversion kits. I called them and they said the kit comes with everything but the clutch kit...its another $199.

What do you think of this company?

How much power is a T-5 capable of handling?

Is this a very hard swap?

I'm thinking I will get rid of the AOD and go to a T-5.

list of items you will need!
clutch
throwout bearing
clutch pedals assembly
shifter
transmission (90 model used- if I dont sell it by then)
bellhousing
throwout bearing fork
pressure plate
standard trans starter
engine sheild plate that goes in between your engine and trans
new roller pilot bearing

you can get by with your computer
you can use same transmission crossmember, mount and speedo cable
you may have to change speedo gear.

about 230-300 hp depending on how you drive it, how much you powershift etc...

I will sell you everything listed above in RED with a used transmission (I can throw in a used pressure plate and clutch disc if you like) for $750 if you want! totally up to you!

Don't buy from AMP for mechanical parts

I wouldn't buy anything from amp that you expect to work.
I live in phoenix and those ******es have no clue as to what they are doing.
they will change their story on you three times and end up working you over for an extra 500.00.
and 199 for a clutch.. they are going to sell you the same King Cobra clutch kit you can get from the dealer for 149.00. that's just how they are.. If you are buying interior parts they have good deals but you've got to inspect the parts before buying because the'll sell you cracked stuff.
I did my T5 swaps by buying everything off ebay and paid ~700.00 and that's with a newly rebuilt T5 (Z version that is good to 350 ft-lbs). I'd say piece on together or buy a kit from someone on here and have the trans rebuilt before you put it in.

$750 is a good price. I sell mine at $1100-$1200 to your door, with EVERY bolt and nut included, bag, tagged, and labeled. (when I have one, If i happen to have a parts car, right now I don't) I have NO issues selling them at that price either, and that's with a used t5. Stangparts.com and others sell even much higher than that.

i ordered a air bag form them the one i recieved was crushed and it took them over a month to get my replacement to my door

and have seen many fellow mustang owners very dissatisfied with thier experiences with amp.
