Which is a better off road pipe? is it worth to spend 70 extra dollars for the x over the H?

I think H-pipes sound better, and gains are similar.

Now if you are looking into putting a LOT of hp down, then consider an x, specifcally Dr.Gas.

Just put on a Mac H-pipe no cats...rest is stock tho. But it sounds and feels 50x better than I thought it would.

I just put a BBK off-road H pipe with 1 chamber flows on my 98 GT...umm..loud? If it's that mustang sound that your looking for that makes you turn your head from a block away..H pipe is the way to go..sounds so awesome..unlike the bassani x pipe (expensive as hell!) that hung to low..would take a while to warm up..and was TO RASPY!..keep in mind..if u have a 96-97..that the exhaust mani on the 98 is the same that is standard on the 99-02ish.

i would say that if you have a stock exhaust that an x would give you about 5hp more then an h........

Depends on which X-pipe you go with. My UPR X-pipe sounds equally as deep and burbly as an H-pipe at idle, and low rpm. It also emits an extremely cool "evil" "echoey" sound when mildly accelerating through the gears. It does rasp a bit when you mash the throttle down, but I don't really mind it. WOT sounds beautiful.
