I have a MAC cat back system which I really like. But it seems as tho I need an H or X pipe. Which one adds more power. I'm thinking of adding a MAC X or H for consistency sake. Should I be looking at a different brand? Thanks for all help.

I really like the sound of my BBK X pipe with catalytic converters...

$399 sucks, but you can pass emissions testing with smaog hooked up.

$199 off road...

BBK parts numbers.
1661 1986-93 5.0 Mustang 2.5" Off-Road X-Pipe* (* Not Emissions Legal)
1662 1986-93 5.0 Mustang 2.5" X-Pipe W/Converters

I have heard that Mac products lack the fit and finsih see in other brands, i.e. Bassani, BBK etc.

i think jegs makes their own brand H pipe for our cars, and its like 115 bucks, and i beleive free delivery, so check that out... if ur worried about price... I got a bbk off road H and it makes your car sound like 10 time meaner, and 10 is huge lol

Some people really hate the way the bbk x pipe sounds.

I would recommend the D-pipe.

Sounds like an h at idle while it rumbles but at WOT it sounds like an x while it screams. If not a D pipe...the Dr. Gas pipe all day. Then if not those two, then a off road h pipe.

And its a myth that x pipes make more. Accufab and others have tested that on the average x pipe, a h pipe makes more. Has something to do with the cross section reducing in the X cross over and the flow paths actually disturbing flow instead of just flowing right out. But like stated above...its just a matter of a couple ponies. The temp of the air and the temp of your engine changes more power than a h or x pipe would i think. Choose on sound.

you can probably get a reputable exhaust shop to do it for you. thats what i did. i went down to the muffler shop in greenville and the guy had about 15 x's already made up. it isnt all fancy looking like the bbk or bassani ones but it still does the trick. cost me 20 bucks for the x and i think 50 bucks to get my h cut off and the x welded in. i ended up getting talked into taking the bullets off and putting 1 chamber flows on (sounds a lot better than the bullets). total cost me $250
