Ok so today I went to get my Prochamber Installed at my local mechanic and they wouldnt do it because its illegal so I deside to go ahead and give it a try. So I put the car on to ramps and it was high enought to were you could lay under the car and move around. So we got the sensor clips uncliped which were a pain but once you did it it was pretty easy. So we disconnected the cat-back and started on the manifold bolts. This is were things Stopped. We couldn't loosen but one bolt on the drivers side with hand tools. We even broke a new Universal Joint. So we moved up to an impact wrench. We got 3 bolts totally off the manifolds. 2 on the Driveside and 1 on the back passengerside. Now the front PassengerSide is in a tight location againts the body. We Used two different Impacted wrechs with an impacted joint at 90psi and 130psi and could not brake it loose. So after 5 hours of trying we desided to quit and put it all back together. So after another annoying hour of messing with the stock H pipe its all back on execpted the back passengerside bolt which wont thread onto the stud. So i figure if the other one is so tight i could drive on one bolt without worry. Im so pissed off about this, why is it so tight. I dont know what to do and its so close to geting striped but you can still get a bite on it. My firend says he can get the right swile socket other wise theres this guy with a muffler shop who I hear will do it. Any Ideas? Thanks

If you cant get the nut off just pull out the stud and replace it. Not that difficult, ran into to the same problem with my brothers 02 and my friends 01. If you want you can always try heating with a torch is one is accesible.

Soak it with some kind of penetrating spray and let it soak in. Then give it a go. You could also try to get the muffler guy to do it. I dunno what else to do.

I just got finished installing my magnaflow true-x and magnapack system today. ZERO issues with the manifold bolts. I used a 1/2 drive socket with a short 15mm socket swivel joint and 20" extension. The hardest ones to get to was the passenger side lower bolt. That was the only on I need to use the swivel joint on. On the drivers side I had to switch to a 15mm deep socket to get the nuts off.
To take off the whole old system and put on the new stuff took 3hrs with a break. If I had to do it again 2hrs top. Gets some penetrating fluid liek PB Blaster and spray the nuts. I just loosened them and then the came off by hand.
I wish you luck. Let us knwo how it goes.

leave it alone and take to the shop. I took mine to a small muffler shop and they installed it no ?'s asked. Do not got to a big performance shop or midas.

When me and my boy were doing my 4.6 we had a lift but we would have to take some bolts out from the top. We couldn't take them all out from below the car it was to hard.

Patience and a LOT of PB Blaster

Here's what worked for me. Spray the nut with PB Blaster (best penetrating spray IMO) let it soak, spray, soak, repeat, etc. Use a lot, it will come but the stuff has to soak for a while. I learned this the hard way. Use a 18 mm (I think) 6-pt medium-well socket if you can get one. Also use 1/2" drives, I snapped a 3/8" extention clean off trying to loosen that nut. Took me about 3 hours w/ a lift the first time. Good luck, you'll love the PC when you get it on.

You would be surprised how well PB Blaster works. I had the same problem and wound up putting all of the bolts back on because I could get the pax side lower bolt. Once I decided to try again with the right tools it came off pretty easily. Just soak the heck out it with PB Blaster. I used WD40 first but no luck. I had about 20 inches of extentions on a 1/2 inch socket wrench reduced down to a 3/8th's swivel and socket (mid depth socket...the deep socket was too long and wouldn't clear the fenderwell and the standerd socket was too short and wouldn't allow the manifold bolt to come through) due to clearance between the manifold nut and the fenderwell. I also put a cheater pipe on the wrench to get more leverage.

What got me the most pissed off was that we hit it with the impact wrenchs and it still didnt work. We were going to get a 3/8 reducer but i gave up. Maybe the 3/8 reducer is what i need with a bigger impact wrench at 200psi.

My friend adn I put mine on a few months ago on my 4 year old GT. No problems at all. Took about 1.5 hours, only because part of the frame wouldn't let the new X fit right until we bent it a little.

I had some problems getting my MAC O/R H off of my car after I put it on. It was hitting the frame (or A arm) I don't really remember which one, on the passenger side.

I did the same thing...I just got so pissed I stopped working on it. Took me 2 weeks before I went back at it. I didn't need the impact. I just use the cheater and it came loose pretty eaisily.

Buy a bottle of MAP gas most auto parts stores carry them. I had to heat mine up till it was bright red and use a impact to get it off. Just be carefull you don't burn you starter I removed it just to be safe plus it gave me a couple more inches of room. Heat it up put the impact on it should come loose right away.

I put my headers in today and the bottom one on the driver side was being a butt so i just put the impact on it and twisted it off! you could do that and then put another stud in it
