I'm new to mustangs and I just picked up a 2002 GT (auto) about a month ago. So far I've installed a cold air kit (ebay), 75mm TB and ported/polished plenum.

I'm under the impression that a cat-back itself doesn't add much power, just nicer exhaust tone. The stock h-pipe with the 4 cats/resonators seems to be more of a restriction and much cheaper to address.

I'm thinking of installing a VRS O/R X-pipe and keep the stock catback. With the money I save I'll get UDP and the timing adjuster. Seems like the gains will be much greater this way.

Opinions?

Thanks, Peter

Do yourself a favor, sell the cold air kit, save your money on the UDP's....and get the cat-back! HP gains may not be much with cat-back, and yep, you'll get more off the X-pipe for sure, but a cat-back is a must!
