I found a couple of dealers with 100 miles or so that will order an '06 Premium GT Convertible on the X-Plan.

The catch is that I haven't driven one yet. I love the looks and the sound, but I haven't had the opportunity to find out if I like the ride, access to the back seat for a car seat, etc... And it's hard enough to find a dealer that actually has one in stock, let alone when that will let you test drive the ones they do.

So, do I take the chance on ordering without test driving?

Getting it on the X-Plan means that I can pretty much guarantee that if I absolutely hate it I can sell it and break even.

You can always order and then change your mind. Remember, you don't have to keep the car until you sign the sales contract and as hot as Mustangs are right now it's not like the dealer is going to complain.

No you shouldn't, the dealership I went to said they would sell the car regardless so if I changed my mind and cancelled the order they would return my deposit

Cars seats are tough.

Rear facing is just about impossible. Forward facing is "doable". Boaster seat works very well.

It's forward facing.

My daughter is almost two.

I'll be putting her behind the passenger seat and moving that seat forward a lot.

My wife's short, so if and when she rides in there too she has no problem with a seat moved far forward.

You could always go check out a local v6 for the room part of the equation. I know putting a car seat in my 99-forward facing-was fairly easy, but to have a front seater at the sametime was not good. If you can find a car seat that is really upright it would be better.

They're still being dorks about the whole thing? Silly Ford dealers. They forget that eventually they will be marking these things down to invoice to get rid of them...

My dealer is pissing me off right now they are trying to back out of giving me x-plan. Month ago they said no problem. Now they are trying to say no and charge me $1k more for it. If they will give it to ya take it.

Talked to the closest dealer who is willing to do the X-Plan this morning. He has both a GT (hardtop) and a 'vert (V6) in stock and his happy to let me take them both out for a test drive, so I can get a good feel.

Heading out there this afternoon. If I like them a deposit is going down.

This dealer has already ordered an '06 on the X-Plan for another person, so hopefully there will be no issues for me.
