And it's been a loooong time coming!!! I got back to the track tonight not sure what to expect. The last time i had it out was with the stock heads and cam on drag radials...that time i finally broke out of the 14.20 rut with a 13.89 and got busted for not having a helmet. At the time i was SURE it had 13.50s in it.

Now, i've got the C90E heads, roller rockers and the X303 and did the clutch pack mod on my rear end with used clutches and got it locking up again. I went up for my first pass unsure what would happen so i didn't even put the helmet on. All i want is to run a 13.20 to match my buddy's 355 S10...so i heat'em up and i'm next to a newer S10 that i can't hear so i assume it's a stocker. We launch and i blow the tires to pieces (can't get these things to hook for crap) and this truck leaves me sitting (ended up being an LS1 with nitrous) but i still pound it and go for gold, thinking that it's probably another low 14/high 13 pass. I come around and get my slip and i'm shocked....12.96 @ 106mph and i murdered 1st and 2nd gear.

So now i can't believe i actually scratched 12s, when all i was hoping for was to match my buddy's time. I call him since i can't find him and he doesn't believe me. He sees my slip and is PIIIISSED OFF...lol.

So, i go back for another pass and drop the tires down to 12psi down from 14. This time around i'm next to a really mean looking '69 Camaro...tubbed, 454, open headers etc. I heat'em up better this time and try my damnested to walk'em off the line without spinning but still kill'em and the Camaro gets the jump on me (obviously with 2 foot wide tires) but once we're off i'm on his ass the whole pass and he runs a 12.7 to my 12.83 @ 107mph.

So i'm pretty extatic. I'm fairly certain that with control arms and slicks it'll go low 12s, and that's just plain obsurd for how simple and old school my engine is.

Here's pics of the timeslips...first pass on the left, second pass on the right.

They were pretty packed so i didn't get a third pass.

Yeah BFG's and i hate'em. I know there's guys running single digit times with them but i can't seem to hook to save my life. 1.9 is the fastest i've ever had my car in 60 feet but on video you can see how my car still squats and sits sideways off the line from spinning so hard. They're about wore out so when they're done i'm gonna put street tires on my ARE's and just buy slicks and throw'em on 10 holes.

A few people were saying it was because i've got stock control arms and shocks and that they'll never hook until i get control arms and some good drag shocks.

CONGRATS.....I bet your happy ...I cant wait to get my car done to see what she will run....I would be very happy with high to mid 12's.....You have alot left in her once you get that car to hook low 12's arent far...you might even get in the
11's..... Oh yeah what is full combo to?

Yeah i'm pretty excited. After the first pass i was coming back around through the pits and the looks i was getting from people were priceless. My car doesn't look as "clean" anymore as it does in my sig pic...it's got red doors and grey primer spots where i've been doing body work on it...it looks like a POS..lol. Three guys came up to me in the staging lanes asking how much spray i was running and didn't believe me when i said none..i had to open the hood and show them. The 107mph trap speed has low 12s all over it...and my Holley still has the box-stock jets in it so i think with some dyno tuning, control arms, shocks and slicks i might be able to slip in an 11.99 somewhere....maybe with a strong wind at my back

Well a few guys are saying that if i ran 107mph and still spun as hard as i did off the line, if i get control arms and shocks and slicks it might run 11.90s. I just can't even believe that but i really didn't think it would go 12s so who knows.

It would depend on your 60ft's. 1.9 isn't that bad. Getting it down to a 1.7 would put you at 12.2, your MPH doesn't reflect an 11 second time. Well, not to me it doesn't.

I'm just thinking that if i could cut a 1.7 or better and not spin so hard off the line that the mph would be greater by the end of the track. No?

I'm gonna get off here and go try to get the video converted so i can post it online so you can see how hard it's spinning off the line.

If you can cut a 1.7 there's not gonna be much wheel spin. Nice times though!

It depends on how you stage also. If you stage deep it's gonna give you a slower MPH.

Yep, i bought'em back in probably '04 right after i got my coupe. They had a bent exhaust valve in each one and last year i had new stainless valves put in'em. I've been really worried about how they'd perform because i don't know who ported them, but when i took them in for the valves i had the guy look them over and he said they were definitely professionally ported and worth using. Then i bought my buddy's X303 when he got a custom cam and that's what i've got. I want a better cam but it's running great so far. I think it'll go low 12s on slicks.

Thanks! It's funny because i sort of skipped 13s..lol. I've only ran a single 13.89 with the stock heads and cam and then i threw all this stuff on. I was trying to just hoard some parts until i could get the cash to buy/build a new shortblock but i said screw it and threw them on the old high miler. I'm glad i did! Now lets just hope she holds up for a while. The heads are ported and polished but i don't know who did the work, and they're 1.94/1.60 valves. I believe they flow in the neighborhood of 190cfm @ .500 lift stock but i believe they're closer to 280cfm now.

On a side note i'm trying to find the stock C90E intake runner cc volumn....any chance anyone knows it?

Nice times! Forget the 50 shot, do what you can with what you have. I think it's cool going as fast as you possibly can with junk parts for as cheap as you can. I can't believe the bfg's are as bad as you're describing though. At the track with bone stock suspension, mine dead hooked and made the car bog on a 5k rpm launch. With a wide open rev limiter launch they hooked good enough to break an axle.
