Hello everyone, I am running out of ideas. I have a 1990 5.0 mustang and the airbag light has been on since i bought it last year. I had the blue module box sent to airbag systems Inc and they said they repaired it. I replaced the back up battery supply in the glove compartment area. Still the constant light remains. The only conclusion I have is that airbag systems Inc is full of crap and did not fix it. I really don't want to spend another 100 bucks for a used one off eBay to test my theory not to mention the pain in the rear it is to change.

If there's a problem with the circuit to the airbag in the steering wheel or the airbag sensor the light will come on. I wouldn't trust a 28 year old airbag anyway.

Do you need to pass inspection, or does the light just pluck your nerves ?

The bulb can be removed if the latter is true.

i don't have to pass inspection and yes it does grate on my nerves. i just like every thing to work the way it should. i had thought of the bulb idea and then read that that the module will start beeping if the bulb is out.

So what code is the light blinking on startup?

Count the blinks like the check engine light and that's the code. Then compare to the code list to see what the actual issue is.

When I start it up, the light just comes on. There are no flashes, nothing to count.

Try this: disconnect the battery, take the airbag off the wheel and clean the connections and plug it back in, replace it on the wheel and connect the battery.
Don't Plug The Airbag Back In With The Battery Connected!!!!!
